Tina and I just got back from a week in Fredericksburg, Texas. We were able to get in some early spring bike riding and birding. One night downtown, we came across several large moths that resembled small hummingbirds drinking nectar from flowers. This is a picture are of a White-lined Sphinx moth.

I added some more pictures from our trip to the Picasa Gallery

Lance Armstrong’s 4,241-sq.ft. ranch house at Deadman’s Hole, sitting on 447 acres of Texas hill country in Dripping Springs, is on the market for $12 million. No reason given, but he’s had an expensive run-in with the neighbors. To see property photos, house specs and commentary by a wiseguy blogger, click http://tinyurl.com/7wfs3r

Godfrey “Cho” Gahemba, Rwanda’s rising star, was struck and tragically killed by a vehicle on December 14, during a cycling race in Rwamagana, Rwanda . He was 17 years old. Godfrey was chosen as one of two Junior riders in Rwanda to attend a two month training camp in South Africa prior to the Junior World Championships in Cape Town, South Africa. This was Godfrey’s first time leaving the country of Rwanda. Godfrey was poised to lead the future of Rwandan cycling as he placed third overall in the Tour of Rwanda and first in the Junior rider category. Godfrey lived in Kigali with Team Rwanda member Adrien. Godfrey was orphaned during the genocide in 1994 and was taken in by members of his community and has been largely raised by Adrien. Godfrey will be greatly missed by Adrien Niyonshuti, Jonathan Boyer, and the rest of Team Rwanda. Please keep Adrien and Jock in your prayers.
