Several years ago, I started sending a daily picture to a few friends and family members. It is not always daily, but whenever I am fortunate to capture an image I feel like sharing.
Yesterday, the picture was sent to over 170 different email addresses. Sometimes, an email host such as Comcast or Hotmail rejects the mailing as spam and the email is rejected. I have looked at several options for managing this picture of the day idea better and have decided to make a few changes.
Beginning this week, I am going to use my WordPress Blog to help manage this email list. If you wish to continue to receive my pictures, please go to http://bnwilson.com and enter your email address. You may subscribe and/or unsubscribe to this list at any time. Please let me know if you have any questions with this change.
Today’s picture is a mama Chipping Sparrow feeding her young late one evening on our patio.

Well, the weekend has come and gone and it was even better than I expected. 14 of us gathered for the weekend including Mom & Dad, sister Mary with son & daughter Warren and Nora visiting from KC. We also reconnected with old friends Tim and Pat McClelland from Chicago. The 2 main reasons for the gathering were to meet Aurora for the first time and to attend Scott Phillip’s annual BBQ in Monticello. A great time was had by all and I’m sure everyone would now like a bit of extra sleep…. or its just getting harder to party for 3 days in a row at my age.

This is going to be an awesome weekend. I recently re-connected with an old college-era roommate on Facebook and we are getting together for a beer this weekend. He has to drive 450 miles from Chicago, but that’s just a minor point. We are attending a large outdoor BBQ at another friends “country place” and the weather lady says we our getting our first rain in 8 weeks tomorrow.
This is also a test post of a new email subscription service from Feedburner. My “Picture of the Day” email has grown into a management task with over 150 people now on the list. Hopefully, Feedburner will take care of some of the drudgery and allow posts to the blog to then be sent to the entire email list. Keep your fingers crossed.
Have an awesome weekend.

Tina and I are finally home. In the course of the last week, we experienced 85 degree temps in Orlando and 45 degree night temps in Indiana. Thursday, we drove a long 600+ mile day, itching to sleep in our home bed after 6 weeks in the camper. Traveling north, we watched the fall leaves change very quickly. We paused for a few minutes in western Wisconsin to enjoy the colors, having missed the gradual change that happens this time of year.

I have been asked by several people, (well OK lots), if I take pictures of other things besides birds. Identifying birds has become a real hobby for us, but learning photography (thanks Jeff) is still a passion.
Here are several different shots I took one day in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
