Years ago, a woman was going to have a dead tree taken down in her front yard. Her 8 grandchildren had a different idea. They asked that the tree be saved and if they could decorate it. Little did grandma know that they were going to spray paint the tree and add a dozen bicycles to the art project.
Several weeks ago, I had the opportunity of riding a fund raiser cycling event up in the hill country. It was staged from the runway on the LBJ ranch and Pres. Johnson’s daughter Luci Baines Johnson was the grand marshal. A truly fun day.
Lance Armstrong had a rough week at the Tour de France this week. Maybe he’ll ride RAGBRAI again next year with us.
For the past several years, I have enjoyed photographing various bike races. The standing joke is that I photograph young men in tight black shorts.
