American Kestrel
Birding is always fun for us, but when combined with a first sighting of a new bird…. it’s even more special. While driving today, we saw a small bird sitting alone in a tree next to a highway. After we stopped (illegally) and got the binoculars on him, we realized that we were seeing our first American Kestrel in the wild. This male is one spectacular looking bird.
