I experienced my first up close look at a Snow Bunting this past week. I have seen these guys before in fast moving flocks but this was a first to watch them walk on the ground and peck at food. Very beautiful bird.
The Snow Bunting is a bird of the high Arctic and snowy winter fields and is mostly white in breeding plumage. These colors are their non-breeding or winter plumage.
