Tina and I are back from Venezuela. We have several thousand images to sort and we will post some as we cull the good ones out of the pile. The birds were numerous, fantastic and sometimes difficult to keep track of. On Monday, Feb 7th, we saw 85 species of birds at Hato Piñero, a ranch situated in the central llanos (plains) of Venezuela. On Tuesday evening, we saw an ocelot slowly walking through some bushes.
One of the top birds for us was the Scarlet Macaw. Over a dozen individuals lived near the lodge at the ranch and were seen and heard each morning. I’ll post more pictures as we get them sorted.
