The Ferruginous Pygmy-owl is a small owl that breeds in south-central Arizona in the USA, south through to Mexico, Central America and South America to Bolivia and Argentina. We found this guy on our last full day in Venezuela quietly watching the surrounding country side. About the size of our Saw-whet owl.
