After chasing birds all week, we finally got a male Painted Bunting today just as the sun set. A new friend & photographer Jeff Johnston, gave us a lead about a Mulberry Tree near Shell Mound. Grosbeaks, Tanagers and a lone Bunting were stuffing themselves on berries and insects. I fired off a couple of shots with the on-board flash and got these… Not great but a really fun moment.
