While we were birding in the bog Saturday, Erik received reports of Boreal Owl sightings in Two Harbors. At least 3 different birds had been reported during the day. We drove back thru Duluth picking up Tina and hurried up the north shore. Driving through neighborhoods, we spotted a cluster of binoculars and cameras at the corner of 4th St and 3rd Ave. Sleeping in a tree about 10 feet off the ground, was this little guy. We spoke with a local birder who confirmed that 3 owls had been seen in town during the day. Nice way to end the day.
