Saturday, I participated in a bird walk as part of BioBlitz 2009. BioBlitz, aims to increase the public’s awareness of an area’s biological diversity, offer a chance for the public to work with scientists, as well as provide an environmental benchmark for natural resources managers of Minnesota parks.
One of the highlights of the morning was a Prothonotary Warbler. We found 2 males near Crosby Park in the Watergate Marina. The pictures from yesterday were not very good, so I also dug out another shot from earlier this spring in Alabama. Click on the thumbnail for a larger version.
