Thursday, I thought I had an Eared Grebe in Lake Pepin, but after further looks, and help from my friends, we decided it was a Horned Grebe.

Birding with a few friends this morning, we came across our first of the year Horned Larks. Several were working a park entrance @ Lake Elmo and one came up to the edge of the road. My car makes a great photography blind.
