April 28-30 brought 14 family and friends together for an awesome weekend. Tim flew in from Hood River, Jeff, Kristian and Brian drove the sailboat up from Ft. Polk and Marcel, Phaedra and Zander drove their 1996 Geo Tracker down from Minnesota to give to Grandpa. In spite of a rainy weekend, we were able to clean and inventory Marcel’s new 25′ boat, the Army got successfully drunk and the whole family laughed a lot. (I traded my 2004 Blazer for the Geo Tracker (& some cash) so that Marcel would have a decent truck to pull the boat.)
Nora and Warren did a great job of babysitting Zander for an afternoon, giving us more time to work on the boat. Mary and Amber not only drank a bit with the Army, but ran the Trolly Trail running race. Jeff, Gaz and Redd created a video documentary of their road trip which we all anxiously await. Oak Park Mall asked them to leave at one point for taping secret retailing secrets.
