Mom and Dad Pileated once again visited the back yard. Temps are dropping so all of the birds are eating more than usual and the yard is full of activity.
We also believe that we spotted 2 females on our walk this am, so we may have 2 females keeping our male busy. This would explain why some mornings we have a pair, and other times we just see a female. (Click on thumbnails for larger view)
