Short-billed Dowitcher

Thanks to a MOU post by Bob Williams, we were able to find and photograph a Short-billed Dowitcher on the north side of the bridge to Manitou Island in White Bear Lake.

Painted Buntings

I still do not have a great, clear, close-up shot of this bird, but this will have to do for the time being.  He really is one of the most colorful birds on the planet…. At least in this hemisphere. The Painted Bunting

Cedar Waxwings

One of our favorite subjects to photograph is the Cedar Waxwing.  Cornell describes the Waxwing as a silky, shiny collection of brown, gray, and lemon-yellow, accented with a subdued crest, rakish black mask, and brilliant-red wax droplets on the wing feathers.

Texas Hummers
