American Goldfinch

One of the most common birds in Minnesota is the American Goldfinch.  They really seem to be everywhere, bringing a dash of color and sound to every nook and cranny.  hang up a bird feeder and let me know how many come to your yard.

Short-billed Dowitcher

Thanks to a MOU post by Bob Williams, we were able to find and photograph a Short-billed Dowitcher on the north side of the bridge to Manitou Island in White Bear Lake.

Painted Buntings

Cedar Waxwings

One of our favorite subjects to photograph is the Cedar Waxwing.  Cornell describes the Waxwing as a silky, shiny collection of brown, gray, and lemon-yellow, accented with a subdued crest, rakish black mask, and brilliant-red wax droplets on the wing feathers.
